Ways we go green:

    1. We have a zero-waste mentality. We use reusable water containers (bluewave PBA free) and paper cups for water, we recycle all paper, donate left over food to local food banks, as well as compost the food scraps.
    2. Through our Earth Day events we have physically planted as well as given out over 10,000 trees and counting. We have also supported other non-profits such as Green Seattle, Mangrove Action Project, Arbor Day Foundation, Teen Feed, Feeding America, FareStart and more.
    3. We purchase carbon credits for each event that we do to mitigate the participation travel. We use sustainabletravel.org for this.
    4. We print bib numbers on paper, not plastic. Most other running events use the standard Tyvek bib which is a single use plastic product that cannot be recycled. We recommend sending an email to your favorite race and tell them they can go green with paper bibs just like the Magnuson Series!
    5. Did you know we recycle used running shoes and old race medals? Bring used running shoes to any of our events and drop them off at our registration area and they will be donated to Africa by the More Foundation Grp. Same thing goes with any old race medals, simply drop them off at the race or you can mail them to: Sports Medal Recycling 679 Washington St. Unit #8-135, South Attleboro, MA 02703. They recycle the metal and fabric, so nothing gets put in a landfill. http://www.sportsmedalrecycling.com/.
